This data is used solely to improve our website and does not contain any references to your identity.
Personal data is only collected when you provide such data voluntarily when placing an order, opening a customer account or registering for our newsletter. Your data will only be used without your express permission for processing your order and for distributing our catalogues/mailings. When you register for our newsletter, we will use your e-mail address for advertising purposes until you unsubscribe from the newsletter.
We will store your personal information insofar as is necessary for conducting business and to the extent permitted under the UK Data Protection Act.
Transfer of personal data
We will only process personal data for order transaction purposes and transfer it to service providers where necessary for this purpose. If you choose to purchase on account or pay by direct debit in the UK, we may request a credit check on grounds of our legitimate interest and conducted on the basis of statistical methods from Barclays Bank or GoCardless. In this case, we will transfer such personal data as is necessary for a credit check on grounds of our legitimate interest to be conducted to Barclays Bank or GoCardless and use the information we receive concerning the statistical likelihood of non-payment as the basis for deciding whether to enter into a contractual relationship. The credit information may contain score values, which are calculated on the basis of approved statistical methods and may use address data. Your interests will be protected in accordance with the legal requirements.
Your personal data will be transmitted over the internet in encrypted form using SSL v3, RC4, RSA with 1024 Bit exchange, issued by Thawte Server Certification Authority. www.pedal-it.co.uk uses Facebook social plugins to create a more shopping experience. Among others, we use the "LIKE" button. This is an offer provided by the American company Facebook Inc. (1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA).
When you visit a page of www.pedal-it.co.uk that contains a plugin, your browser establishes a connection to Facebook and the content is loaded by Facebook. It may therefore be possible for Facebook to track your visit if you have a Facebook account or have already visited a page with Facebook social plugins. Facebook also gathers information about you directly when you use such a social plugin (for example by clicking the LIKE button). This is necessary so that the information can be shared with your friends. Pedal It has no influence over the content of the plugin and the transfer of information to Facebook.
You can prevent Facebook from collecting information about you during your visit to www.pedal-it.co.uk by logging out of Facebook and deleting any cookies. (You will find more information about cookies here.)
Google +1 plugins
Our website uses the “+1” button of the Google Plus social network, which is operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (“Google”). This button is identified by a “+1” sign on a white or coloured background.
If you open a page of our website that contains such a button, your browser establishes a direct connection to the Google's servers. The contents of the “+1” button are transmitted from Google directly to your browser and integrated into the website. We do not have any influence over the amount of data collected by Google via this button, but we assume that your IP address is stored.
If you are a member of Google Plus and you do not want Google to collect information about you on our internet site and to link this with your membership data stored by Google, you must log out of Google Plus before visiting our website.
Right of access to personal data
Under the UK Data Protection Act, you have a right of free access to your stored data, as well as the right to correct, block, or delete such data if necessary.
